OUR TIME (SIX WHOLE YEARS) by Risha Allen
Verse 1
Everybody grows up.
We’re on the way.
It’s hard to believe that we’re almost done with fifth grade.
We’ve made a lot of friends
both young and old.
And we’re still making memories we’ll take when we go.
It’s been a rosy time.
But we’re ready to fly.
Chorus
It’s been six whole years, and it flew by.
We blinked and now it’s time to move on with our lives.
Kindergarten, first, second, and third went fast.
Fourth and fifth,
we’ve had a blast.
And we’re sad to say goodbye but don’t cry.
This is our time!
Verse 2
We know how to work hard
and have fun, too;
That much won’t change as we take on middle school.
But we’ll never forget
our time within these walls.
This place shaped us, made us who we are.
It’s been real. It’s been fun.
Wish us luck ‘cause we’re done!
repeat Chorus
Bridge
It’s our time to test our limits,
Find the niche where we fit best,
Transition to a life without recess!
